AMBUC National Scholarship Programs
Each year Kalamazoo AMBUCS works in conjuntion with our national organization to sponsor therapy students at Western Michigan University. These scholarships are awarded to students in their junior/senior year in a bachelor's degree program or students in a graduate program leading to a master's or doctoral degree. Students must be accepted in an accredited program by the appropriate health therapy profession authority in physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech language pathology, and hearing audiology. For more information on the National Scholarships:
In mid April, Kalamazoo AMBUC Members will interview all the applicants in our area. These interviews determine those scholarship candidates that are recommended for the National Scholarship awards.
Kalamazoo Living Endowment Fund (KLEF)
Each February, the $10,000 Charity Raffle is sponsored by the Kalamazoo Living Endowment Fund and the Kalamazoo Chapter of AMBUCS. Over 879 scholarships totaling $453,616 have been awarded in the past 34 years.
Proceeds and donations from the Raffle and through other Memorial donations provide Scholarships for students enrolled in therapy programs at WMU's Occupational, Speech, Pathology, Audiology and Music Therapy Programs.
KLEF Scholarships are administered by the WMU Department heads on the basis of financial need.
